Team Member Bio
Hildah Kwamboka Makori, Ph.D., is a Research Associate and Curriculum Specialist in the CREATE for STEM Institute at Michigan State University School of Education. Dr. Hildah earned her doctorate degree in Education from Iowa State University where she received a Research Excellence Award for her dissertation. Her research focuses on science teaching practices. She is interested in pre-service teacher preparation, in-service teacher professional development, NGSS teaching, social justice science teaching and equitable teaching through ambitious science teaching. Her most recent works focused on teaching as enactment of ones’ habitus in preparing teachers to teach science in new ways and the role of structures in affording or constraining teachers’ change of habitus.
